What is project Blue?
We are a group of former foster youth reaching out to current and future foster youth. Our goal is to raise awareness to the public about their local foster youth, and give a chance to those who wish to support them. The first step we plan to take to accomplish our goal is to create a day reconizing these youth and let the community show thier support. The official name for this day will be Project Blue.
On May 27, millions will go blue to stand in solidarity with those who have been impacted by foster care and to show their support for the 640,000 youth in foster care in the United States. Many people will change their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media accounts profile picture blue. To go blue for their local foster youth, participants just have to wear anything blue and post their support to any social media sites with the hashtag #goblueforfosteryouth.
On May 27, we will stand together; as communities, corporations, celebrities, faith groups, sports leagues, schools and simply as humans, to send a message of solidarity to those who are currently or have been in foster care.
